Frankfurter Buchmesse 15 - 19 October 2025

Frankfurter Buchmesse 2023

Waiting areas for book signings and book sales

We are looking forward to an inspiring, peaceful and multi-facetted #fbm2025 together with you. To facilitate this and ensure an even distribution of visitors throughout the halls, we will establish specially designated waiting areas for certain crowd-pullers. This regulation affects both selected book signings with popular authors as well as book sales, and ensures better time planning.

On this page, we have summarised everything you need to know, including how to access the new waiting areas and where exactly they are located. You can also download the site plan as a PDF file for better orientation at the fair.

Free stand event tickets for book signings

Some publishers organise their own book signings or book sales through their own ticketing systems. These free tickets for stand events are available directly from the publishers. Details can be found in the respective event in the Calendar of Events on Frankfurt Connect(opens in a new window) or on the website of the respective publisher.

Please note: Stand event tickets can only be requested from the organising publishers!

Please also note: You will need a separate Frankfurter Buchmesse ticket to enter the exhibition site.

I would like to buy a book or have it signed at the fair – what do I need to bear in mind?

  • For selected book signings and book sales, you will need extra stand event tickets
  • Stand event tickets can only be booked through the organising publishers
  • You might not be allowed access to the waiting areas without a stand event ticket
  • You will receive instructions on how to access the waiting areas from the publishers on site.
  • Important: No extra ticket is required for Meet the Author book signings
  • You find book signings and other events in our Calendar of Events

Waiting areas for halls 1.2 & 3.0 and for Meet The Author on public days

To ensure an optimal fair experience on public days, even in the busier halls, there are waiting areas (see overview plan below):

  • For Hall 1.2 with the New Adult Area: waiting areas in the hall and in Hall 1.1
  • For Hall 3.0: Waiting areas on the outdoor grounds adjacent to the Halls 3+4
  • Meet the Author in the Festhalle: Queuing areas at the signing tables

Important: You need a ticket to the Frankfurter Buchmesse to enter the exhibition grounds.
