DIGI-CO: shape the future of education
DIGI-CO (DIGItal CO-creation of contents for children and youth’s narrative and literature) is a project in the framework of the Creative Europe funding programme of the European Commission. The project’s goal is to create an international digital co-creation platform that fosters the active involvement in the content creation by experts of the children's book and educational publishing industries, as well as teachers, publishers and authors.
The makers behind DIGI-CO
The project of the European Commission is being implemented by DeAgostini Scuola and NATHAN/EDITIS Group, two of the largest education publishers in Europe, along with the Italian software provider bSmart and Frankfurt EDU, the new education area at Frankfurter Buchmesse. The result of the project – the online co-creation platform – will be presented to the public at Frankfurter Buchmesse.
Take an active role in designing the future of learning
You are an educator, publisher, author or education expert? Then we cordially invite you to get involved: teachers and educators, along with authors from educational publishers, are invited to contribute with their feedback to the ongoing design of the product.
Upon completion of the project, teachers will get access to the DIGI-CO platform: Its tools and further support material - co-developed by educators - will help you tailor your lessons to your students' individual needs. The virtual co-creation space allows you to realise innovative class projects, such as cooperative writing workshops, reading contests or involving external people, e.g. authors or publishers.
DIGI-CO is therefore providing a resource that supplements the existing programmes of educational institutions. Furthermore, it enables learners to pursue their continued education independently, both inside and outside of classrooms.

DIGI-CO and EDU
DIGI-CO’s goal is to design the future of education and forge new digital and analogue paths for the creation of learning materials. DIGI-CO is also a part of Frankfurt EDU – the platform of Frankfurter Buchmesse for innovative concepts, contents and technologies in the education sector. It’s the place where the trends for the future of learning are developed and discussed with exhibitors and visitors.

How will people learn in the future? What technologies will be used? Will learning get easier and, if so, how? Frankfurt EDU is working on these questions – and DIGI-CO looks poised to answer them together with everyone involved in the project.
