Publishers' Trip India for Independent Publishers from German-speaking Countries

The book market in India has recovered from the Corona Pandemic and is developing briskly again, the interest in translations into Indian languages is growing, and at the same time the country holds many literary discoveries.

We would like to use this opportunity to rekindle the exchange in the field of literature: A visit to the Jaipur Literature Festival and the Publishing Segment Bookmark is planned, as well as a side trip to Delhi to get to know even more publishing houses and to gain further insight into the literary and cultural scene.

Through the participation of the German Foreign Office, the costs for travel and accommodation will be covered.

Requirements for participation

Applications are open to German-speaking publishers, programme managers, and editors in the fields of fiction and non-fiction with at least three years of publishing experience, a good command of English, and an interest in the Indian book market.
