Miguel Barrero Maján has a degree in Education Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in ICT from the UNED. He has developed his entire career within the Santillana Group, a publishing company leader in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking educational market. He has been a member of the Executive Board for more than a decade. From September 2010 to 2015, Miguel held the General Direction of Santillana Digital. He is currently the General Director of R&D as well as the Director of Education of the Santillana Foundation. Since January 1, 2019, he has been President of the Federation of Publishers Business Union of Spain.
