Exclusive event: Dan Brown live at the Frankfurter Buchmesse
Frankfurt, 13 July 2017 – On Saturday, 14 October 2017 at 7:00 p.m., 1,800 guests, international publishers and media representatives will have the rare opportunity to attend a ‘live’ event at the Frankfurt Buchmesse featuring bestselling US author Dan Brown. Dan Brown will present his new thriller Origin, scheduled for worldwide release in over 50 languages beginning on 3 October 2017. His German publisher Bastei Lübbe will release the book on 4 October 2017. This exclusive event with the international thriller writer is the only one planned in Germany. The evening will be hosted by Alf Mentzer (hr2-kultur). German actor Wolfram Koch will read from the German translation.
In Origin, in tried and trusted fashion, Dan Brown weaves together science and religion, mysterious codes, art and crackling suspense into a new adventure with Harvard professor Robert Langdon. And, since Dan Brown rarely gives interviews in public, it is a special highlight that he will be presenting his new novel in Frankfurt shortly after its publication.
“We are delighted that this eagerly-awaited international book premiere will take place at the Frankfurter Buchmesse, it can also be read as a sign that Frankfurt is, more than ever, a place for major authors to showcase their books. We are grateful to Bastei Lübbe for offering us this exciting opportunity”, says Lars Birken-Bertsch, Director Business Development at the Frankfurter Buchmesse.
“Is there anything better than a conspiracy theory?” That is the question Dan Brown’s charismatic hero Robert Langdon asks in the world-famous thriller The Da Vinci Code. The bestselling American author’s success proves that, if nothing else, there’s hardly anything more suspenseful than conspiracy theories: Dan Brown’s thrillers stoke controversial and highly dramatic conspiracies, capturing the public’s imagination and remaining at the top of international bestseller lists for weeks.
