Customers to use Instant Permissions at end of October

Frankfurt, 6 October 2017 – Customers in Germany currently using the FBM RightsLink platform, which is operated by Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), will transfer to IPR License’s Instant Permissions service at the end of the month. For Frankfurter Buchmesse, the aim behind the move to IPR License is to have the full range of services in one system, rather than developing and managing two systems independently. CCC is part owner of IPR License and fully supports this transition.

Jane Tappuni, General Manager of IPR License, said: “The idea is to have one platform that serves all needs, so our customers – whether they are in Germany, the UK or further afield – will be able to sell and purchase translation rights through Instant Rights, and now complete permissions deals through Instant Permissions as well. We continue to work with our colleagues at CCC, who have been our partners for a while now, and we look forward to maintaining that close association.”

FBM and CCC see the move from FBM RightsLink to IPR License as an opportunity to help customers who have been required to use separate platforms for translation rights and permission rights.

Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurter Buchmesse, added: “At the Book Fair we are constantly striving to update and improve the services that we offer and, by moving across to this new system, FBM RightsLink customers will continue to receive all the benefits they did before and top-rate service.’

“We are confident that migrating customers from the FBM RightsLink platform to IPR License’s Instant Permissions, which provides a one-stop resource for both translation rights and permission transactions, will provide a streamlined experience that best serves IPR’s, FBM’s, and CCC’s mutual customers and members, as our organisations continue to work together for their benefit,” said Darren Gillgrass, Director, Rightsholder Products and Services at Copyright Clearance Center. “We will look forward to continuing to partner with IPR License to help ensure a smooth transition and support ongoing needs.”
