Call for Participation: Applications open for the stage programme of Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024
New Adult Stage in Hall 1.2 for fans of New Adult, Romance and Fantasy
Under the motto "#fbm24 is reading - Read. Reflect. Relate.", the 76th Frankfurter Buchmesse will celebrate reading in all its facets from 16 to 20 October 2024. It is about celebrating reading where stories begin: at the centre of the publishing industry. After all, it is stories that connect people.
The Frankfurt Pavilion and the Frankfurt Studio, Open Stage, International Stage, Stage 4.0, New Adult Stage and THE ARTS+ Stage will host an eye-catching programme of events at #fbm24. All exhibitors can submit programme proposals until 15 May 2024. Specialist topics can be submitted on all five days of the trade fair. Over the weekend of the trade fair, the focus will also be on entertainment topics.
The Frankfurt Pavilion, the cultural-political stage of Frankfurter Buchmesse, invites you to current debates with a focus on society and politics, as well as freedom of expression and democracy - with renowned speakers from literature, politics and society. On the Sunday of the fair, everything will revolve around children's and young adult books.
A brand-new area for new adult, romance, dark college and similar genres will celebrate its premiere in Hall 1.2: during the trade visitor days, the New Adult Stage will be a stage for everything to do with writing and self-publishing. At the weekend, it will be a meeting place for authors from these genres and their fans. In addition to major genre publishers, the 'Meet the Author' area, the trainee café for up-and-coming authors and communities such as Bücherbüchse, Selfpublisher-Verband and Fakriro will be presented in Hall 1.2. The slots for the New Adult Stage can be booked now.
The Frankfurt Studio stands for rousing talks by star authors and industry experts on the latest topics and trends - with up to 150 audience members on site. Each event is recorded and made available for one year in the Frankfurter Buchmesse media library the day after the event.
On the Open Stage, the largest and most versatile event stage at Frankfurter Buchmesse, influencers meet bestselling authors and stars from TV and culture.
The International Stage, in the foyer between the international Halls 5 and 6, focuses on book markets as well as literary and cultural-political topics and offers dialogue with the international publishing community. At the weekend, the stage is particularly suitable for readings by authors from all regions of the world. The programme on the International Stage is exclusively in English.
On the stage in Hall 4.0, everything revolves around trends and market developments in the fields of science, education and publishing services. At the weekend, the stage will be the centre of the Campus Weekend. Authors and experts on (popular) science topics will also meet their audience here.
THE ARTS+ Stage is the stage for the future of publishing and business beyond the boundaries of the traditional publishing business. At the weekend, the stage offers event opportunities for all those who work with comics, manga and anime.
The events can be held in German and/or English. On the Frankfurt Pavilion, Open Stage, New Adult Stage, Frankfurt Studio and International Stage there is the free opportunity to join a 30-minute signing session after the stage slot.
