Reading Promotion and Role Models
„There will be no Book Fair without books, there will be no books without reader, there will be no reader without the knowledge of reading” (Shashi Tharoor). This panel will discuss the importance of role models to promote reading especially for children and youth. Reading promotion experts from Spain, Germany and Scotland will discuss the situation in Europe and Malaysia with the former education minister of Malaysia, Deputy Chairman of Selangor Public Library (PPAS), Dr. Maszlee Malik. They will present exemples how actors and footballplayers support reading as role models.
