Claudia Roth MdB has been Minister of State for Culture and Media since December 2021. She was previously Vice President of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2021, a position she has held since 1998, with a brief interruption from 2001 to 2002. She was party chairwoman of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen from 2001 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2013. She was a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 1998. Roth made her professional beginnings in the cultural industry, including as manager of a rock band and theater dramaturge.
