Irene Vallejo, born in Saragossa in 1979, studied classical philology at the University of Saragossa and Florence. In the process, she discovered her passion for antiquity. 'Papyrus', her first non-fiction book, became a bestseller in Spain and was awarded the country's most important literary prizes. She also shares her passion for antiquity in her numerous appearances as a guest speaker and weekly columns in 'El País Semanal' and 'Heraldo de Aragón'.
