Jocelyne Saucier lives in northern Quebec, a Francophone province in Canada. She has published four novels: La vie comme une image, Les héritiers de la mine, Jeanne sur les routes and Il pleuvait des oiseaux. She has won many awards for this last novel; it was translated into 15 languages and adapted into a screenplay. Two of her novels are available in German: Il pleuvait des oiseaux (Ein Leben mehr) and Les héritiers de la mine (Niemals ohne sie).
