Nicola Bardola, born in 1959, studied German in Bern, Munich and Zurich. He founded and was co-editor of the series "Wegweiser durch die internationale Kinder- und Jugendliteratur" (International Youth Library), supervised book and illustrator exhibitions and was, among other things, a juror for the Young Critics Award. Nicola Bardola is a permanent contributor to several magazines and newspapers.
