Piero Salabè studied in Rome, Venice, London and Munich. He is Senior Fiction Editor at Hanser Verlag in Munich, where he works mainly with English, Italian and Spanish, but also Arabic literature. His authors include Michael Ondaatje, Lisa Moore, Colm Tóibín, AL Kennedy, T.C. Boyle, Orhan Pamuk, Roberto Bolaño, Claudio Magris and Alaa Al Aswany, whose novel “The Republic of False Truths” was published this spring. Other Arabic-language authors he has worked with in the past include Najem Wali, Jabbour Douaihy and Samar Yazbek. He is also a journalist, poet and translator of poetry and is fluent in five languages.
