Susanne Biedenkopf-Kürten studied German and Romance languages and literature in Freiburg, Montpellier and Santiago de Compostela. She joined ZDF in 1985 and has since worked as an editor and reporter, among other positions. From 1990 to 1992 she was correspondent in Thuringia. As head of the Europe editorial department, she has been responsible for the daily Europe magazine "Heute - in Europa" since 1999, among other things. Since March 2014, she has headed ZDF's main editorial department for business, law, service, social affairs and the environment.
