Chip Rossetti’s translations of Arabic fiction include Beirut, Beirut by Sonallah Ibrahim; Magdy Elshafee’s graphic novel Metro; and Utopia, by Ahmed Khaled Towfik; as well as the forthcoming short story collections Animals in Our Days by Mohamed Makhzangi and No Windmills in Basra by Diaa Jubaili. He has a Ph.D. in modern Arabic literature from the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked in book publishing for over twenty years, and is currently the Editorial Director for the Library of Arabic Literature, a bilingual series of pre-modern Arabic books published by New York University Press.
