James Crawford
James Crawford is a publisher, writer and broadcaster. As Editor-At-Large at Polygon/Birlinn Books he has commissioned the new book series 'Darkland Tales', which sees Scotland’s best writers re-imagining stories from the country's history and myth for a contemporary audience. The first in the series - Rizzio, by Denise Mina - was published to critical acclaim in September this year in the UK and the US. James is a former chair of Publishing Scotland and the new chair of the Bloody Scotland crime writing festival. He is the author of eight books, including the critically acclaimed Fallen Glory: The Lives and Deaths of History’s Greatest Lost Buildings, and is the writer and presenter of the landmark BBC One documentary series ’Scotland from the Sky’.
