After studies of Portuguese and Spanish Literature and Political Science / International Relations in Frankfurt and Lisbon in 1996 she started working in book fairs and in cultural and literary exchanges. She worked for the organizing committee of Portugal as guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 1997. Since 2004 she leads the Guest of Honor Program of the Frankfurter Buchmesse.
