Fellowship and grant programmes

India Calling is a publishing trip to India for independent publishers from German-speaking countries. A visit to the Jaipur Literature Festival and the Publishing Segment Bookmark is planned, as well as a side trip to Delhi to get to know even more publishers and gain further insight into the literary and cultural scene. Date of the trip: approx. 30 January - 6 February 2024.

Each year a group of small publishers from Africa, Asia, the Arab world, Latin America, and the Caribbean are invited to exhibit at Frankfurter Buchmesse. The Invitation Programme makes it possible for publishers who would normally not have this opportunity, to introduce themselves at the industry's biggest get-together in Frankfurt.

The Frankfurter Buchmesse’s Frankfurt Fellowship Programme is an intensive training and networking programme for publishers, editors, rights & licensing managers, and literary agents from all over the world.

After the successful premiere of a cross-industry, three-city creative trip through Southeast Asia (Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore) in November 2022, Frankfurter Buchmesse is offering another creative trip in November 2023. This time, participants will travel to Bangkok, as well as Jakarta and Singapore.

The Paris-Frankfurt Fellowship is aimed at young German, French and Swiss professionals from the book industry with a keen interest in the book market of neighboring countries.

Up to fifteen international literary and non-fiction translators who translating from German will have a great opportunity to participate in an exclusive exchange and networking programme with publishers, authors and cultural institutions in Frankfurt.
