NEXUS - into the future with a system reboot?
A discussion between Yuval Noah Harari and Kohei Saito at FBM24
Is a system overhaul the only way to a future worth living? Israeli historian and bestselling author Yuval Noah Harari and Japanese philosopher and critic of capitalism Kohei Saito will be discussing this question at Frankfurter Buchmesse (16-20 October 2024).
Yuval Noah Harari became world-famous with his book “Sapiens. A Brief History of Mankind”. In his new work “Nexus”, he addresses the danger that the information networks of the present could destroy the future of humanity.
In his bestseller “Slow Down – The Degrowth Manifesto“, Kohei Saito formulates a radical critique of growth in the global economy. He argues for a democratic reform of labour and production from a Marxist perspective.
The event is part of Frankfurt Buchmesse's cultural-political programme “Frankfurt Calling”, in cooperation with Süddeutsche Zeitung and Goethe University Frankfurt.
