Call for Participation: Applications open for the stage programme of Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025
Frankfurter Buchmesse (15 to 19 October 2025) invites exhibitors to apply for the stage programme of #fbm25. Applications for the paid stage slots can be submitted from 31 March to 9 May 2025 using the form on the Events | Frankfurter Buchmesse(opens in a new window) website.
Every year, Frankfurter Buchmesse is a meeting place for literature and culture enthusiasts, publishers, authors and people from the worlds of culture and politics from all over the world. The Guest of Honour at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 is the Philippines. The diverse programme of events enables exhibitors to present their authors, themes and products to an international audience.
Frankfurter Buchmesse is constantly developing its stage programme. This year, a total of 628 stage slots and 573 hours of programme are available for this purpose. A particular focus in 2025 will be on the professional programme.

- Target group formats: Children's and YA books, comics & illustration, romance & fantasy
- Looking to the future: AI, audio, creative industries (film & games), science

- Exhibition stages: Congress Centre, Stage 4.1, Stage 4.0, Frankfurt Studio, Frankfurt Studio Pop-up, International Stage
- Interactive formats: ‘Meet the Author’, ‘Meet the Expert’ and ‘Masterclasses’
- Frankfurt Kids Festival: Extended programme on the Saturday and Sunday of Book Fair Week at the Congress Center Messe Frankfurt (CMF)
- Reading and Participation Day (Friday): Cooperation with Frankfurt City Library - readings & workshops in 16 district libraries
New for 2025: Individual applications for speakers
In addition to complete events, individual speakers can now also be proposed.
Specialised topics are welcome on all five days of the fair. At the weekend, the focus will be on author events and entertainment topics.
The cultural-political programme Frankfurt Calling will be integrated on all stages in 2025. The aim is to give opinionated authors and lively debates a broad space throughout the overall trade fair experience.
