"Der Pfau" by Isabel Bogdan - from novel to cinema-film

The film adaptation of the novel with an all-star cast (Lavinia Wilson, Jürgen Vogel, Tom Schilling, and others) is complete and scheduled for release in early 2023.

What does it mean for the author when her book is adapted? How is a film made based on a novel? What attracted the producers and the director to the material? What role do literary agents play? How do the director, author, and producer collaborate? What are the challenges that must be overcome to turn a best-selling book into a successful film?

This event is organised by the Frankfurt Book Fair in cooperation with the Berlinale.
