Welcome to the publishing industry’s largest annual event. In October, ideas that change the world are born – at the fair and digitally worldwide.

The programme for the general public at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 offered visitors a range of colourful experiences that evoked many unforgettable impressions. There was literally something for everyone: for book lovers of all ages, for culture enthusiasts, for anyone thirsty for knowledge or nearly any other interest. This was enhanced by engaging talks, interviews as well as readings with international personalities and authors. There was also plenty to experience at the numerous meet & greets, interactive events, creative sessions and educational formats

Centre Stage: the new stage at the heart of the fair

The new stage in Hall 4.1 for contemporary topics included the format “Frankfurt Calling”, the cultural policy programme of Frankfurter Buchmesse and its partners. Speakers included Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa, former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Dr Eckart von Hirschhausen as well as cultural scientist and rapper Dr Reyhan Şahin (Lady Bitch Ray).

Congress Center

The Congress Center offered a diverse programme with highlights from the fields of children's books, entertainment, fantasy, film and more. On the largest stage – in the Harmonie Hall – authors presented readings, performances and interviews. Visitors were able to appreciate an even more family-friendly atmosphere in which to linger and explore.

Frankfurt Studio - Festival

Bestselling authors live – at Frankfurt Studio, our general public programme in the foyer of Hall 4.0. Here, literary and TV stars presented their latest books and answered probing interview questions in front of an audience and cameras.

Visitors could enjoy a diverse programme of non-fiction and fiction books in an accessible setting – in exclusive readings and talks with authors at Frankfurt Studio Pop-up in the foyer of Hall 4.0.

Festhalle Pop-up Stage

The Festhalle Pop-up Stage offered talks and readings on topics ranging from Romantic Fantasy and New Adult to current BookTok trends.

Fabely Hörbuch Stage

Everything about audiobooks! At this stage powered by Bookwire in the Frankfurt Audio Area in Hall 3.1, visitors met the authors and narrators of their favourite audiobooks on the weekend.

Innovation Stage

From career tips to book presentations to new scientific findings: that was the Campus Weekend at Frankfurter Buchmesse, including the new Innovation Stage in Hall 4.0.

Forum Education

The programme for everyone interested in education. Created in collaboration with the Verband Bildungsmedien e.V. (Association of Educational Media), this stage in Hall 3.1 D12 featured renowned speakers, some with political roles, in inspiring lectures, talks and discussions on new learning, media and school concepts.

Zentrum Wort

The high-calibre programme on the Centre of Words Literature & Translation Stage in Hall 4.1 featured conversations with German-speaking and international guests on both theory and practice. Hot topics from literature, translation and cultural policy were discussed.

Reading Zone of Independent Publishers

The programme for the general public at the Reading Zone of Independent Publishers in Hall 3.1 gave visitors the chance to discover the diversity of the book world. Highlights included readings, talks, events, exciting newcomers and new publications.

Readings with authors from every corner of the world as well as literary and cultural policy topics were the focus of the Frankfurt International Stage in the foyer of Halls 5.1/6.1.
