In European political and intellectual discourses, on platforms, websites or information databases Armenia is located differently, as Europe or Asia, Russian and post-soviet territory, Eastern Partnership, Eastern Europe, or the wider Black Sea Region. As if there are very different, sometimes contradicting political and/or cultural maps. Where is our place on the contemporary “world map”? How are we perceived by and in Europe? Where do we see ourselves?

During the panel discussion, we are looking for answers to these and other questions related to Armenia’s localization on the world map and Armenian literature’s place in the global publishing and literary scene.

We want to confront how we see ourselves and how we are seen from the outside. How do we want to be seen, understood and accepted based on our literature and culture, and how can our literature impact on pinning Armenia on the global political and cultural map?
