Where did Donna Leon get her name? What did she do for a living before words became stories? How does one live with a criminal imagination? In her new book "A Life in Stories" and on this special evening on the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair, Donna Leon answers questions that we as readers have always wanted to ask her.

Donna Leon has experienced a lot, in America, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Italy, of course, or in Switzerland. But no sooner does an adventure happen to her than it becomes an exciting story. She tells us about her youth on the farm and about curfew pyjama parties in Iran, money shortages and a Fiat 600, about how she came to Italy as a "chaperone," about the hunt for the perfect cappuccino and small miracles in the mountains. The conversation is conducted by Shelly Kupferberg.

The German texts will be read by Wolfram Koch.
