The rise of audiobooks: a talk between two markets / Keynote

While audiobooks are taking their first steps in Latin America, in the Nordic countries the format has been widely established for many years. In the Spanish speaking world, audiobooks are a small fraction of the market, but in Sweden audiobooks alone account around 50% of the publishing industry's turnover. The Spanish speaking markets are exploring different models for audio formats, while in Scandinavia the most established option is the subscription platform. Two close observers of the audiobook market, one based in Mexico and the other in Sweden, engage in an open dialogue sharing data and experiences in order to chart a path that expands the possibilities of audio formats rather than imitating them.
